ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ students who participated in the Maine Digital Festival at the Augusta Civic Center were featured in an article in the .

The goal of the event is to show students, as young as kindergarteners, that coding can be fun.

Students from ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ’s Math Club setup an obstacle course of fake mushrooms. Children who successfully assembled, or coded, their Code-a-pillars to make it through the maze of mushrooms received a prize.

Jennifer Fatula, M.A., Math Club advisor, told the Press Herald most of the youngsters who took part successfully completed the task.

ÐÂÏã¸ÛÁùºÏ²Ê×ÊÁÏ student Shawn Pilling volunteered at the event. He told the Press Herald he and his fellow students wanted to help get children interested in coding at an early age.
