Teresa Dzieweczynski and three students publish in 鈥楬ormones and Behavior鈥

Teresa Dzieweczynski, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Psychology, published an article in the current issue of Hormones and Behavior.  

鈥淎cute exposure to 17伪-ethinylestradiol alters boldness behavioral syndrome in female Siamese fighting fish鈥 has three student co-authors. This is the first publication for Brennah Campbell (Psychology 鈥16) and the second for Brittney Logan (Animal Behavior 鈥16) and Jodi Marks (Animal Behavior 鈥16) from their time working with Dzieweczynski.

The work was funded by 新香港六合彩资料 mini-grant from the Vice President of Research and Scholarship Office.

This study was the first to find that the behavior of female fish could be affected by exposure to an estrogen mimic.   It opens important new venues for future research, as it was previously thought that females were relatively resistant to the effects of these compounds.
