Lara Carlson interviewed for article in 鈥榃omen鈥檚 Health鈥

Lara Carlson, Ph.D., FACSM, associate professor in the Westbrook College of Health Professions, was interviewed by Women鈥檚 Health for an article published June 13, 2014, on 鈥淭he Truth About What Time of Day You Should Work Out.鈥

The article discusses the pros and cons of exercising in the morning versus the afternoon.  Carlson explained that according to research, 鈥渢hose who exercise in the morning have lower blood pressure throughout the day and get better sleep.鈥  Tying this to the issue of weight loss, she noted that 鈥渟leep is when your body repairs itself, and sleep also reduces stress, which may affect your weight.鈥
