Anne-Marie Davee interviewed for article in 鈥楾he Current鈥

The July 4, 2014 issue of The Current featured an article on healthy foods for Boomers, which focused largely on Anne-Marie Davee, M.S., R.D., L.D., SNAP-Ed nutrition program coordinator in the School of Community and Population Health.

In the article, Davee spoke about her life-long interest in nutrition, her own eating habits, and diet鈥檚 effect on various health issues that the Boomer generation faces.

She also commented on the low-carbohydrate diet craze:  鈥淚t鈥檚 like a pendulum鈥t keeps swaying one way or the other,鈥 she said.  鈥淚t鈥檚 good for quick weight loss, but it鈥檚 not something I鈥檇 recommend for the long term.  You get critical nutrition from the while grains and fruits.  Over time, your body misses those nutrients.鈥
